I love the golden warmth of autumn leaves still waiting on the moment of release from the branches that supported them through spring and summer. These maple leaves were nearing their encounter with the earth below, still beautiful in spite of losing their bright colors - first a fresh green that deepened as the season changed, and then deep red.
