Whale Notebook

I have been fortunate enough to see a few whales in my lifetime in spite of never having done a whale watching tour - off the Washington and Oahu coasts.  Each sighting was spectacular, but the sighting off the coast of Oahu was so close to shore that body boarders had to come in closer to the beach to ensure that the whale did not leap on top of them. Each time the whale went back under, we all waited with our breaths held for the next leap. It was so exciting!
